Introduction
On February 27, 2022, the globe will commemorate World Sustainable Energy Day. It conducts events focused on sustainable energy production and use, including energy efficiency and renewable energy sources for buildings, industry, and transportation. The World Sustainable Energy Day is an international conference on sustainability held in Austria. The World Sustainable Energy Days events feature the most recent technological advances, remarkable examples, and European initiatives, as well as possibilities to form new alliances. The conference promotes green energy and energy efficiency. The way we consume energy is evolving. In comparison to prior decades, we are significantly more conscious of the environmental damage caused by fossil fuels, and many of us are attempting to live as sustainably as possible. The term "sustainable" is one such buzzword. Many cosmetics, culinary, and fashion firms use the term to describe how they obtain resources, but what does it imply in terms of energy? The continuous usage of fossil fuels is one of the most visible sources of global warming. Fossil fuels are finite resources, which mean they will run out one day, which is why it is critical for the world to transition toward renewable sources. Continue reading to learn what sustainable energy is, how it acquired its name, and why it is critical to the health of current and future generations.
World Sustainable Energy Day 2022 History:
President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen recommended a 55 percent reduction in emissions target in her 2020 State of the Union address, coupled with a review of the EU's climate and energy policy. On the same day, the Commission issued the statement "Stepping up Europe's 2030 climate ambition investing in a climate-neutral future for the benefit of our people." It includes a revised 2030 objective of a net 55 percent decrease in emissions compared to 1990 levels. This new 'Fit for 55' package seeks to put the EU on pace to achieve climate neutrality, and because energy accounts for 75% of GHG emissions, accelerating the energy transition is vital. As a result, the WSED (Fit for 55) 2022 edition represents a far-reaching reform of policies, technology, and markets in order to achieve carbon neutrality. It also accelerates development and transformation.
