NEW EDUCATION POLICIES AND POST PANDEMIC EDUCATION

INTRODUCTION
Due to concerns of access, India has traditionally struggled with education delivery. The lack of connectivity has aggravated the problem. Although Internet penetration is close to 50%, students aged 5 to 25 have only about 15 % access. There is an opportunity for change with more schools offering online courses and a plethora of growing tools to improve the online model and make it a viable substitute for a traditional classroom. Extracurricular activities, professional streams in schools, reading, and numeracy will be prioritized; academic streams will remain unchanged. Vocational education will begin in the sixth grade under the new program. Teaching in the mother tongue or regionally has been made compulsory till the fifth grade. A 360-degree progress card was introduced to assess student progress toward learning outcomes, among other things.
The New Education Policy System
• A new curriculum will be developed for these five years, including three years of Anganwadi (pre-school) and the following two years of first and second grades in school. It will focus on activity-based learning and will be appropriate for children aged 3 to 8. Five years will be accomplished in this manner.
• The preparation stage will be considered classes 3-5. Children will be taught through experiments in science, maths, and the arts at this time.
• This level will address children aged 8 to 11 years old.
• The intermediate stage will be classified as classes 6–8. Subject-based classes will be taught to children aged 11 to 14. At this point, skill development courses will be discussed.
• The secondary stage will be comprised of students in grades 9 through 12. At this point, you will have the option of choosing a subject. Subjects will be researched thoroughly.
Highlights of the New Education Policy
• All higher education institutions, except medical and law schools, will be overseen by a single regulator.
• The MPhil program has come to an end. Courses
• A knowledge-based and application-based board examination has been adopted.
• Both public and private higher education institutions will be governed by the same set of rules.
• Teaching in the mother tongue or regional language is required until the fifth grade.
• Common admission tests for universities and colleges of higher education
• The educational curriculum should place a greater emphasis on core principles.
• Vocational education will begin in sixth grade with training
• The 10 + 2 study culture will be gradually abandoned and a new structure of 5 + 3 + 3 + 4 will be put in place, considering the age groups of 38, 811, 1114, and 1418 years.
• Pedagogy, Curriculum, and Content.
The relevance of the regional language will be increased by adopting it as a medium of education until the fifth or eighth grade. Sanskrit will be offered as a third optional subject at all levels of education. Other languages will be accessible as elective courses. At the secondary level, other foreign languages will be taught. Indian Sign Language will be created, and students with hearing impairments will receive newly developed content and methods.
Post Pandemic Education System
Mobile technology powered by the internet has the potential to change the course of education delivery by making it more accessible, personalized, cost effective, and shock-proof. This convergence has the potential to benefit both students and teachers. Schools can redesign their architecture to reflect this new reality and universities can revise the curriculum and assessments to reflect the new educational environment. Technology is reshaping our collective goal of universal quality education while also improving learning outcomes. Access to technology and the Internet is no longer a luxury but a necessity. The transition to remote learning has not only provided new ways to teach and assess but has also encouraged self-learning. Although not everyone believes that online education is a viable substitute for traditional learning, a hybrid model may gain traction in the future. The blended learning format transforms the traditional educational paradigm by affecting four key equations: teacher-student, student-student, parent-student, and parent-teacher. As a new collaborative model emerges, all four equations are regenerated. As we navigate the post-COVID 19 landscape, new challenges emerge. The transition time will need to be managed using a mix of digital and physical teaching and learning methods. The physical, a combined pedagogical mechanism, is going to be the way of the future. In the new
world, we are heading, educational institutions must embrace technology since it provides for flexible teaching and learning.
CONCLUSION
Education is an essential and indispensable component of any society's and countries overall development, and a comprehensive national education policy is developed by a nation to meet this requirement.
The Government of India's approval of the New National Education Policy, 2021, is an important step in this direction. The effectiveness of this new education policy will be determined by how it is implemented. As a result, India is the country with the youngest population, and the country's future will be dependent on providing high-quality educational opportunities to these youth. As institutions prepare for fall and the new normal, technology is becoming an even bigger part of the student and faculty experience. The need to be prepared for the constantly shifting scenarios brought on by the ongoing pandemic is, however, a significant challenge of the new normal.
