The World Health Organisation (WHO) said on Tuesday that there has been a gradual decline in the number of new coronavirus cases being reported across the world. Similarly, the world also witnessed a fall in the number of people succumbing to the virus, which stood at 81,000 this week which was a 10 per cent fall from the previous week.
Of the six major regions of the world, it said, five showed a clear fall in the number of infections. It was only the Eastern Mediterranean Region which saw a jump in the number of COVID cases by 7 per cent. Europe as a whole and the United States have also witnessed a sharp fall in the number of new COVID cases. At the same time there has been a fall in the number of COVID related deaths across the world.
