After Adani Group and Manchester United owners submitted the highest bids in Dubai's Taj Hotel, Ahmedabad and Lucknow will be the two new teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2022.
After CVC Capital Partners and Sanjiv Goenka's RPSG Group successfully bid for the franchises in Dubai's Taj Hotel, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced Ahmedabad and Lucknow as the two new clubs for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 on Monday.
With a winning bid of Rs 7090 crores, RPSG Group chose Lucknow as their home base and with a bid of Rs 5166 crores, CVC Capital Partners has chosen Ahmedabad. After six years, the BCCI will add two additional clubs to the IPL, which will begin in 2022.
