The government plans to petition the Supreme Court for a review of the OBC quotas in local governments.

The federal government is considering filing a review case against the Supreme Court's recent judgement prohibiting quotas for Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in local authorities, according to education minister Dharmendra Pradhan. According to Pradhan, the Centre is preparing a review petition, as originally reported by TOI. Pradhan, a famous BJP OBC face, stated in a tweet that the Madhya Pradesh government will also submit a plea for a review of the SC judgement while criticising the Odisha government for not entering the court battle to restore the OBC quota in local bodies.
