The Uttarakhand government said on Thursday that the yearly cost for MBBS studies at the state's 18 government medical institutions will be reduced from 4 lakh to 1.45 lakh, the lowest in the country.
The cabinet also accepted a proposal to increase the incentive granted to ASHA facilitators for visits from $1,000 to 2,000 for 20 trips, according to the minister. According to Subodh Uniyal, cabinet minister and state government spokesperson, the plan was agreed at a cabinet meeting called by chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday evening.
Uniyal also stated that the cabinet approved the Mukyamantri Mahila Poshan Yojana, which will supply women in the state with nutritional meals like as fruits, dry fruits, and eggs twice a week.
