Sanjiv Mehta, chairman and managing director of Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), will be elected president of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) following the association's 94th annual general meeting on December 18, 2021, according to an official release.
He is also the president of Unilever South Asia (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Nepal), as well as a member of Unilever's global executive board, the Unilever Leadership Executive. Mehta has been with Unilever for 28 years and has overseen businesses in various regions of the world for the last 19 years.
Mehta, who now serves as FICCI's senior vice president, will succeed Uday Shankar, the organization's current president, according to a press statement by FICCI on Monday.
Mehta is a commerce graduate who went on to pursue his chartered accountant in India and his advanced management degree at Harvard Business School.
