On Monday afternoon, police claimed, a portion of the home of senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid in Uttarakhand's Nainital district was vandalised and set on fire. They also stated that no one was hurt. The event occurred just days after Khurshid's new book about Ayodhya sparked controversy by drawing a comparison between "Hindutva" and extremist Islamist groups.
According to the complaint, 15-20 persons barged into the property and smashed the window frames and flower vases before setting fire to the gate with diesel gasoline, according to the custodian of the residence.
