According to PTI, days after several Italian passengers tested positive for Covid at Amritsar International Airport, health officials ordered an investigation into the private laboratory that performed the test. The investigation was launched after some of the passengers who returned from Italy claimed that their report was false because they had tested negative hours before boarding the flight. According to the report, they had raised concerns about the lab's testing procedures health officials; the Airports Authority of India has also replaced the services of the Delhi-based laboratory with a local lab. According to the official, some of the passengers who arrived at Shri Guru Ramdas International Airport later tested negative in a re-test."The Airports Authority of India has launched an investigation into the alleged improper operation of the lab." The existing Delhi-based lab's services have been suspended, and the new local lab has resumed operations at the airport," Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr. Amarjit Singh was quoted as saying by PTI. The Airports Authority of India hired the services of this Delhi-based lab on December 15, 2021."The Airports Authority of India has launched an investigation into the alleged improper operation of the lab," Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr. Amarjit Singh was quoted as saying by PTI.
