Over 3,900 children in 12-14 age groups given Covid shots in Delhi
On Thursday, over 3,900 children aged 12 to 14 were immunized against COVID-19 in Delhi. This age group's vaccinations began on Wednesday. On the second day in the city, a total of 3,907 children received the vaccine. Northeast Delhi had the highest vaccination rate of any district, with 612 children immunized. The district had documented the the highest figures were also recorded on the first day. Central Delhi had the lowest figures, with 120. In the Southeast district, where there was no vaccination on the first day, 173 children received their first vaccination. Corbevax vaccine from Biological West district (634) and southwest district (615), respectively, had the second and third highest figures. In the city, approximately six to seven lakh children aged 12 to 14 are eligible for vaccination. According to data shared by the city's health department on Thursday, there were 148 new COVID-19 cases and one fatality, with a positivity rate of 0.47 percent. According to the health bulletin, this brings the national capital's case count to 18, 63,493 and the death toll to 26,145. The Center issued guidelines for Covid vaccination of children aged 12-14 on Tuesday, stating that only the Corbevax vaccine would be used for beneficiaries in this age group. It states that children aged 12 to 14 should be vaccinated.
