At 6 p.m. on January 21, Ola Electric will open the final payment window for customers who have already reserved their S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters. The electric two-wheeler manufacturer announced on Twitter that it will only accept final payments from people who paid the token amount of Rs 20,000 to book the scooter between September 15-16. As the payment window opens today, Ola Electric has asked customers to pay the remaining balance only through its Ola app. Bhavish Aggarwal, Chairman and Group CEO of Ola, tweeted earlier this month, "A sea of scooters awaits you! The final payment window opens on January 21 at 6 p.m. in the Ola App for all customers who have paid (Rs) 20k. We'll ship throughout January and February." In December, the company announced that it had dispatched its electric scooters to all customers who had purchased them in the previous round. The company, which entered the green mobility space in August last year, had delayed the delivery timelines for the S1 and S1 Pro, which are priced at Rs 99,999 and Rs 1,29,999, respectively, citing a global shortage of semiconductors. Following the launch of bookings at Rs 499, Ola initially planned to begin deliveries in October 2021, but this was later pushed back to November and then again to the second half of December. The online purchase process for Ola electric scooters - the S1 and S1 Pro - began in September 2021, and Aggarwal stated that the company sold scooters worth more than Rs 600 crore on the first day of sales.
