New Education Minister Focuses on National Education Policy.
Dharmendra Pradhan the New Education Minister said on Friday that his main focus will be on time bound implementation of the National Education Policy ( NEP).
He also told that he will focus to achieve the objectives of National Education Policy in a time bound manner.
Dharmendra Pradhan succeeded Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ as the Education Minister. Dharmendra Pradhan is the son of former Union Minister Debendra Pradhan. He became Member of Parliament in 2004 after contesting election from Deogarh Parliamentary Constituency. In the previous Cabinet he was Petroleum Minister.
As after taking charge as the New Education Minister, he along with his three junior Minister reviewed the implementation of the National Education Policy. He also reviewed the progress in this field.
Dharmendra Pradhan along with his Ministers interacted with the heads of Autonomus Institution like University Grant Commission, Central Board OF Secondary Education, AICTE and KVS and other senior officials of the Ministry.
Dharmendra Pradhan said “ After 34 years a new Education Policy has come into light. He further told that it is an outcome of the promises our government made in 2014.
Pradhan said that he is thankful for being entrusted with one of the most important ministries “which was led by people like Maulana Abul Kalam Azad,” and said that “there is not a single household in the country for which education is not important and this (ministry) is the office has the big responsibility to give direction to the sector.”
He also holds the skill development and entrepreneurship portfolio.
