Image Source: indianexpress.com On January 26, Farmers were allowed to hold their tractor rally between 12 PM to 6 PM. Also, they were given a route map to be followed during the tractor rally. But the farmers were seen violating all the rules laid down by the Delhi Police. Furthermore, the protest became violent and in order to control the situation the police had to resort to teargas shelling. After, they started attacking the policemen with swords and iron rod, the police further had to resort to lathicharge. As many as 230 cops have sustained injuring during these protests yesterday. The Delhi police has detained 200 protesters in on charges of rioting, damaging public property and attacking the police personnel. The Delhi police confirmed that they are arresting the miscreants after conducting proper verification. Moreover, more than 22 FIRs have been registered, out of which 5 have been from north east region. The Delhi police has also registered FIR mentioning the name of nine farm leaders including Yogendra Yadav. The petition was also filed in Supreme Court, seeking the setting up of an commission headed by retired judge of apex court to inquire the violence. Security has been tightened at Red Fort and and farmers protests side. Additional paramilitary forces has been deployed to control the situation.
