The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution launched the "Mera Ration" mobile app for making the availability of ration throughout the country more conveniently. A scheme launched in 2019, the One Nation One Ration Card, has been enforced by 32 States and Union Territories. Only West Bengal, Assa, Delhi and Chattisgarh are left to enrol on the service.
Foodgrains entitlement, transactions, Aadhar Card can be checked and along with this migration, details can be added in this app. The food ministry is in close collaboration with the labour ministry to enhance the benefits of the scheme. This scheme has been made part of the PM SVANidhi scheme which was launched for the street vendors last year.
86% of the National Food Security Act beneficiaries are under this scheme and an average of Rs 1.5 crore transactions is done within a year.
