Aryan Khan Moves Sessions Court For Bail In Cruise Ship Drug Case
Aryan Khan, the son of Shahrukh Khan, has tried the Court of Sessions on bail in drug cases on cruise ships.
The matter is expected to be heard next week.
On Friday, a district court dismissed the bail requests of Khan and two other people, ruling that they could not be seized.
On October 2, NCB Area Director Sameer Wankhede led a team of officers to raid the Mumbai Port Trust International Terminal from where the Cordelia cruise ship was supposed to depart for Goa. Eight people were arrested after the NCB allegedly seized medium and small amounts of cocaine, MDMA (ecstasy), charas, and Rs 133,000 in cash.
Khan, Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha were the first to be arrested. They were read in accordance with ยงยง 8 (c) with 20b (purchase), 27 (consumption), 28 (attempted activity), 29 (incitement / conspiracy) and 35 (presumption of guilty mood) of the NDPS Act, after Six and five grams of Charas are alleged to have been confiscated from Merchant or Dhamecha. Nothing was brought from Khan.
So far, the NCB has arrested 18 people in the case and has also seized commercial quantities of drugs.
The agency arrested several people after the cruise that was allowed to sail after the raid that returned from Goa on Monday.
Among those arrested are 10 guests, four event organizers, two alleged suppliers and a consumer. Eight people are being charged with 20 years in prison under strict Section 27A of the NDPS Trafficking and Placing Offender Financing Act.
