Mumbai cruise drugs case: Aryan Khan's bail plea rejected, to remain in Arthur Jail
A Mumbai court on Friday denied bail issued by Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, in a cruise ship drug raid case, and was remanded in custody for 14 days on Thursday.
On Thursday, the NCB had requested additional custody of Aryan Khan, Arbaz Seth Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha by Monday (October 11). However, the court dismissed the verdict on the grounds that the mere unfounded detention of the accused was a compelling reason to violate freedom.
The NCB took Aryan and other defendants to their office because the prison would not accept new inmates after 6:00 p.m. Today the Anti-Drug Agency transferred Aryan Khan and other defendants to Arthur Prison.
On October 2, the ncb searched an alleged rave party on a cruise ship off the coast of Mumbai and seized 13 grams of cocaine, 5 grams of MD, 21 grams of charas and 22 ecstasy pills, and 1.33 lakh yen.
The agency arrested eight people: Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Merchant, Munmun Dhamecha, Nupur Sarika, Ismeet Singh, Mohak Jaswal, Vikrant Chhoker, Gomit Chopra.
After hours of interrogation, the OCN officially arrested Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha. Three people were registered under Sections 8C, 20B, 27 (Penalty for Using Narcotics or Psychotropic Substances) and 35 (Presumption of Guilty Mental State) of the Narcotics and Psychiatric Drugs Act (NDPS Act). Khan, Merchant and Dhamecha were initially transferred to the NCB's one-day custody, which was later extended to October 7. 14 days in judicial custody.
