Supreme Court to hold physical hearings twice a week
With the number of Covid19 patients declining and the country returning to pre-pandemic routine, the Supreme Court has decided to hold a physical hearing twice a week, on Wednesday and Thursday.
According to a statement by the Supreme Court Registry, “All matters listed as non-distinct days on Wednesday and Thursday will only be heard in the physical presence of the lawyers / parties in the courtrooms. Courts, while clerks can bring files to court.
"All matters, regardless of their nature, listed on different days will continue to be heard over the
video / teleconferencing mode until new instructions are given," he added.
The amended SOP will come into force on October 20, 2021, the statement said.
