Former Allahabad High Court judge, Justice Shabihul Hasnain appointed Chairperson of Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission
The Delhi government has approved the appointment of retired Allahabad High Court judge, Justice Shabihul Hasnain as the new chairperson of the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC).
The appointment of Justice Hasnain was announced by Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal through Twitter.
"Delhi govt approves the appointment of Justice Shabihul Hasnain (Retd) as the new Chairman of Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC). Providing cheap and uninterrupted power supply is one of the key priority areas for Del Govt. My best wishes to him for a successful stint," the tweet said.
Justice Hasnain graduated in law from Lucknow University in 1980. He joined the Bar in 1984 and practiced on civil side and in Constitutional and service matters before he was appointed additional judge of the Allahabad High Court in 2008.
He was made permanent judge in 2010 and served in the High Court till his retirement on January 9, 2020.
