Steny Hoyer, the house majority leader said that the house will then consider the impeachment on January 13.
This move will come after one week of storming of US Capitol by Trump supporters. It has been alleged that Trump has incited his supporters and claimed that his election has been stolen.
House majority leader on a call on January 11 told that they should plan to return Washington on January 12 evening, so that house resolution can be considered.
This resolution is regarding the call of Mike Pence invoking the 25th amendment i.e. constitutional authority to remove Mr. Trump from the office.
They expect that the resolution will pass but Mike Pence is unwilling to act on the same. Mr. Hoyer then said that they will then consider the impeachment proceedings against Trump on January 13.
House Democrats have moved quickly to draft the Article of impeachment in which Mr. Trump will be charged of insurrection since he egged on thousands of supporters claiming that election was stolen by him which led to the storming of US Capitol.
