India and the European Union have agreed to expand their collaboration in clean energy, with an emphasis on offshore wind, green hydrogen, and solar power, as well as encouraging investments in energy conservation.
At a meeting of the India-EU Energy Panel on Wednesday, many elements of strengthening renewable energy cooperation were reviewed. The panel decided on a thorough work schedule through 2023 to achieve the clean energy and climate partnership, according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).Ensure practically zero-energy buildings and renewable energy sources, such as solar and offshore wind, were among the sectors suggested for collaboration.
According to the MEA, the two sides also agreed to strengthen collaboration in areas like as green hydrogen, grid integration, including smart grids, storage, power market design, and long-term finance for clean energy projects. In the first half of next year, the two sides decided to jointly conduct an India-EU offshore wind business and investment summit, complete with an exhibition of European and Indian enterprises.
Both parties will conduct an India-EU Hydrogen Forum, with the goal of exchanging best practises and policies on hydrogen's role in energy systems, said MEA. Moreover the two sides agreed to host an India-EU Financing Investment in Clean Energy Platform, with the goal of stimulating investment in energy efficiency and renewable energy.
