The government is working on speedy execution of the National Infrastructure Pipeline, the National Monetization Pipeline, and the Gati Shakti plan, said the department of economic affairs secretary, Ajay Seth, on Monday.
Speaking at a webinar on ‘Social and Economic Reforms under Modi Government organized by FICCI, Seth said that the finance ministry was working with other ministries, departments, and state government to quickly implement the three major reform programs.
"The national infrastructure pipeline with Rs 111 lakh crore, supplemented by the national monetization plan of Rs 6 lakh crore, coupled with the Gati Shakti vision so that there can be seamless movement of goods and services and employment opportunities. The finance ministry is working with other ministries of the government, with state governments on how to implement these three plans," he said.
He added that the government has been pushing ahead with reforms despite the pandemic to ensure that the economy bounces back and the potential growth rate is built up.
“We’re on the path of a fast recovery… We look forward to the finance ministry, industry, government partnership, transparent and constructive exchange of ideas so that we can take forward, and in particular the infrastructure,” he said.
He emphasized that industry partnership would be needed to double the investment into infrastructure from the current 5-6% of GDP.
