The Kerala High Court on Friday directed the Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) to ensure that all its students, who have tested Covid positive can write their semester exams. A Single Bench of Justice Devan Ramachandran has directed the University to ensure that the Petitioner, or any other student who is suffering from Covid-19 infection, are given separate rooms to write their semester examination.
The Court was hearing a writ petition filed by a 23-years old final year student of BDS programme at the University's MES Dental College at Palachola, Fathimasha, who had tested Covid-positive. She had sought permission to appear in the final year examination commencing from November 23, 2020 and
scheduled to conclude on November 30, 2020, in a separate exam hall.
Based on the submissions made by the Respondent-University, the Court passed a general direction to ensure that all similarly situated students are given this benefit.
