Hyderabad News: Around 20 lakh people, living in housing colonies in extended areas of Outer Ring Road to get potable water by the end of 2022.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) on Thursday said that around 20 lakh people settled in housing colonies in the extended areas at Outer Ring Road will get safe drinking water by the end of 2022.
While reviewing the infrastructure projects like laying pipelines and building service water reservoirs at Khairatabad, HMWS&SB managing director, M Dana Kishore asked the concerned officials to complete the water supply project and ensure safe drinking water to colonies built-in extended areas of Outer Ring Road by the end of 2022.
The report further suggests that the water board (HMWS&SB) has designed a blueprint to implement the water supply project under ‘ORR phase-II’ and proposed to build reservoirs with a capacity of 137 million liters, and laying of 2,863 kilometers of pipelines and distribution network.
According to a report published in the Times of India, the Telangana government has approved the ‘detailed project report’ (DPR) and sanctioned Rs 1,200 crore.
Dana Kishore has asked agencies working on the infrastructure projects to lay at least 500 kilometers of pipeline by February. He said, “Ensure that 50 percent of infra works should be started to build service reservoirs by February. The 500 kilometers of pipelines will provide potable water to 270 residential colonies.
