NEW DELHI: Paddy procurement in the progressing kharif marketing season at MSP has so far expanded by 22.5 percent to 368.7 lakh tons, esteemed at Rs 69,612 crore. In the progressing kharif marketing season (KMS) 2020-21, the public authority keeps on getting kharif 2020-21 harvests at its MSP (minimum support price) from ranchers, an official assertion said on Friday. The marketing season begins from October.
The Food Corporation of India and state organizations have bought 368.7 lakh huge loads of paddy up to December 10 as against acquisition of 300.97 lakh tons in the corresponding period last year. "About 39.92 lakh farmers have just been profited by the continuous KMS obtainment tasks with MSP estimation of Rs 69,611.81 crore," the official said.
Out of the all out acquisition of 368.70 lakh tons, Punjab alone has contributed 202.77 lakh tons, which is 54.99 percent of aggregate.
