Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has accomplished another milestone. The entrepreneur who enjoys creating headlines and slamming competitors has become the first person to be worth more than $300 billion after his fortune increased by $10 billion in a single day as a
result of a Tesla stock price increase.
Musk's net worth as of Thursday was $302 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires' Index. On Thursday, his fortune grew by $10 billion as Tesla announced a massive deal with Hertz to buy 100,000 of its vehicles.
Musk is currently worth more than the annual GDP of Egypt, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Greece, Qatar, and Finland, with a net worth of more than $300 billion.
