Elon Musk, the company's creator, has sold $928.6 million worth of Tesla stock, cutting his interest in the electric carmaker by 10%. Musk tweeted that he is "nearly done" with the exercise with the sale of 9,34,091 shares, clarifying his prior claim that he had already met his objective of lowering his holding.
According to the most recent regulatory filings, Musk sold additional Tesla shares for $528 million previously to this stock sale. This brings his entire stock holdings to about 13.5 million shares, valued at $14.1 billion following a Twitter poll in which the majority of respondents said yes, Tesla has been on a share-offloading frenzy since November. However, it is unclear whether or not this survey influenced his choice in any way.
