According to a civic report on vector-borne diseases released on Monday, dengue cases in Delhi have surpassed 1,000 this year, with 283 new cases registered in the last week. In the previous two weeks, there has been a surge in cases, putting strain on metropolitan hospitals. While bright skies are predicted for Tuesday in Delhi-NCR, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts a drop in the lowest temperature later this week. The air quality is expected to worsen in the coming days. According to the SAFAR air quality forecasting system, dry conditions in Delhi over the next three days could lead to an increase in fire emissions and, as a result, a rise in PM2.5 levels.
