Two Delhi lawyers have written to Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana against former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti’s remarks on the arrest of Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan in a Mumbai drug bust.
Advocates Vineet Jindal and Akshita of the Tis Hazari Courts implored Asthana to register an FIR against Mufti under various sections of the Indian Penal Code for her attempt to create enmity among communities.
In the complaint, the lawyers said that an FIR needs to be registered against Mehbooba Mufti for her inciting statement which intends to create hatred and unrest among the communities.
Mufti, the Peoples Democratic Party chief, alleged that Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan was being targeted by central agencies just due to his surname, claiming Muslims are targeted to please the BJP’s core vote-bank.
In her statement, Mufti compared Aryan Khan’s arrest with mowing down of four farmers by Union Minister Ajay Mishra’s son Ashish Mishra in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh on October 3 and who was not arrested until much later. The arrest of Aryan Khan on the other hand was a travesty of justice, she said.
Today, a Mumbai court rejected Aryan Khan’s bail for the third time since his arrest a week ago in the case. His bail plea will be heard on Wednesday. He has been in NCB custody since October 2 after he was arrested from the cruise ship. The Narcotics Control Bureau had asked the court to extend his custody till Friday to file its reply. Later, the court ordered the NCB to do so by Wednesday morning instead, posting Aryan Khan’s bail plea hearing to Wednesday.
