Shri Jagdish Prasad, then Branch Manager, Punjab National Bank, Bankhedi Branch, District Hoshangabad (Madhya Pradesh), and Shri Chhotelal Ahirwar (Private person) have been condemned in a bribery case by the Special Judge, CBI Cases, Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh).
On December 2, 2014, a complaint was filed against the accused, alleging that he demanded a bribe from the complainant in exchange for the release of loan instalments for two Housing Loans that had previously been sanctioned and partially issued to the complainant. Two loans of Rs. one lakh each were approved, with each loan disbursing Rs. 50,000. The private person was apprehended by the CBI while seeking and taking a bribe of Rs.6000/- from the complainant on behalf of the Branch Manager. Both were taken into custody.
Chargesheets were filed against Shri Jagdish Prasad, then Branch Manager, and Shri Chhotelal on December 31, 2014, following an investigation (Private person).
The accused were found guilty and convicted by the Trial Court.
