The Bombay High Court heard the plea filed by the wife of activist-poet Varavara Rao, who is an accused in the Bhima Koregaon Case. A bench of Justices S.S. Shinde and M.S. Karnik had extended Rao's stay in Nanavati Hospital till today, in the last hearing. Rao's wife, Pendyalatha Hemalatha filed the plea seeking the court's intervention in the alleged infringement of Rao's fundamental right to health.
Senior Advocate Anand Grover informed that there are hand tremors which still persist and some slight health issues. He clarified that the condition during vacation was that JJ Hospital was overcrowded and understaffed.
