Auto Expo to be held from January 13-18 next year
The Auto Expo, the country's leading automobile show, will be held from January 13-18, 2019, after being postponed this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The biennial automobile show concluded in February 2020, amid widespread concern about the spread of the coronavirus around the world. It was scheduled to take place in Greater Noida in February of this year, but it was postponed due to the worsening COVID-19 situation. "The India Expo Mart Greater Noida will host the Motor Show (Auto Expo) from January 13 to 18, 2023. The 11th of January will be reserved exclusively for the media; the 12th will be reserved for the inaugural ceremony and for The media, special guests, and dealers" Rajesh Menon, Director General of the Society of Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM). While the Auto Expo will be held in Greater Noida, the auto components show will be held at the newly renovated Pragati Maidan complex. Menon stated in an August 2017 statement that the magnitude of the risk of infection spread is extremely high in a business-to-consumer (B2C) show like the Auto Expo, which is attended by large crowds, and maintaining social distancing would be difficult. As a result, he announced that the Auto Expo – The Motor Show would be postponed for the time being. Menon stated that the safety of exhibitors, visitors, and all stakeholders involved and present at the Auto Expo was SIAM's top priority. The Indian automobile industry and SIAM recognize the inherent risks in organizing the Auto Expo due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and fears of a possible third wave, he stated last year.
