In order to strengthen and expand the bilateral trade, U.S.-India bilateral meeting was held virtually. The United States Trade Representative (USTR) Katherine Tai and her counterpart Union Minister Piyush Goyal agreed to share views on how to reach “meaningful outcomes” at an upcoming ministerial conference of World Trade Organization.
The ministerial conference of World Trade Organization is scheduled from 30th November till 3rd December in Geneva, Switzerland.
The office of USTR had announced visit of Ms. Tai and deputy USTR Sarah Bianchi to Japan, South Korea and India to strengthen the trade and economic ties with these key allies and discuss on the Indo-Pacific commitments.
The two countries had talked about reconvening the India-U.S. Trade Policy Forum to expand the bilateral trade by addressing trade issues and an ambitious future, during the first in-person meeting of Narendra Modi and Joe Biden in September.
Furthermore the discussions were on an ongoing parley of Investment Incentive agreement and setting sustainable and non-opaque rules that will lift the economies throughout the Indo-Pacific region.
